Hannah Montana was first aired on 24 March 2006, with more than 4 million viewers per episode. It's third season on Disney Channel in 2009 with plans for the fourth and final season in March 2010. Miley became popular among children and teenagers after starring Hannah Montana.

July 2008, Breakout was released as Miley's second studio album under her own name, Breakout was inspired by "what's been going on in Miley's life in the past year."

In 2008, Cyrus voice as Penny in a featured film Bolt, she also co-wrote and recorded one of the two original songs on the Bolt soundtrack, which features her Bolt co-star John Travolta. 'I Though I Lost You' was the title and later nominated for Golden Globe Award for Best Original Song.

Shooting for the fourth and final season of Hannah Montana began on January 18, 2010. The movie about The Last Song is scheduled for release on March 31, 2010.

A follow up to the 2008 of Breakout will be in stores in June 2010.
